Valley Training Services is a division of Direct Bearing Incorporated. We’ve been providing training services since 1999 and have worked with groups both locally in the Ottawa Valley and across the country - from kayak outfitters in Newfoundland to forestry companies in Ontario  to camps in Vancoucer to search and rescue teams in Nunavut.

Valley Training Services

Matt is the driving force behind Valley Training and heads the team. He is a fire fighter, HSFC trainer, college professor and safety expert. Matt has worked in the Search and Rescue, Emergency Planning and Risk Management fields and acts as an Occupational Health and Safety consultant.


Matt has delivered training and certification programs in many areas of the emergency services, adventure tourism, natural resource and occupational health and safety sectors. He holds the degrees of HBOR and BSc, is a professor at Algonquin College and is currently completing a Paramedic Diploma at Loyalist College.
